Black Diamond
On December 11 at approximately 4:22 a.m. on the 23200 block of SE 312th St., officers were dispatched in reference to a welfare check. The reporting party called to report that her 87-year old husband had left the house in a truck, stating that he had disabilities and should not be driving. Officers located the vehicle a short distance away, stopping the vehicle without any problems.

On December 2 at approximately 3:24 p.m. on the 32400 block of Union Dr., officers received a call about a suspicious person soliciting. Officers contacted the subject who was leaving roofing information on peoples’ doorknobs. The subject was informed that he could only solicit in Black Diamond with a permit. The subject was unaware he needed a permit and he cleared the scene without incident.

On December 2 at 11:23 a.m. on the 29300 block of 233rd Ave. SE, officers were contacted via telephone by a man calling to file a theft of a firearm report. A subject in Everett was arrested and a gun was found on his person. The gun belongs to a resident in Black Diamond who did not know the gun was stolen. The gun owner was advised to come to the station to file an official report and to provide a statement.
Covington
On December 2 at 1:30 p.m. on the 27100 block of 185th Ave. SE, someone smashed a vehicle window and grabbed a couple of backpacks out of the rear of the vehicle. Although a witness did not see the actual breaking of the window and stealing of backpacks, the witness did observe a suspicious male hanging around the area at the same time.

On November 27 at 10:45 p.m. on the 27000 block of 185th Ave. SE, a male was observed in a business parking lot ducking in between vehicles with a package after leaving a business. The male got into a vehicle and left. The same vehicle was observed in another business parking lot down the road. During an investigation, officers contacted the male at a residence in a close by city. The male gave officers the stolen tools and was released pending filing of charges for Theft.

On November 26 between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. on the 18400 block of SE 240th St., someone entered a vacant residence under remodel. Missing items stored in the house included a lawnmower and trimmer with attachments.
King County
On December 5 at 8:25 a.m. on the 25400 block of SE Green Valley Rd., deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle parked on private property. Upon arrival, two individuals were found asleep in the vehicle. After waking them up, check of their names revealed they gave false names. Check of their real names revealed the male had a felony warrant and the female had three out of state felony warrants. The male was booked into the Regional Justice Center on his warrant, and the female booked into the Regional Justice Center for investigation of Fugitive from Justice. The vehicle was impounded.

On December 5 between 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on the 20200 block of SE 294th Way, when a resident returned home, she found a door standing open. Stolen items included a TV, generator, guitar, amp and leaf blower. A small pry bar, not belonging to residents, was found in one of the rooms.

On December 5 between 12:01-6 a.m. on the 14100 block of SE 177th St., someone used a tool to rip a metal box off a wall that was used for collecting rent checks. A good number of checks had already been deposited inside the box when it was stolen.

On December 4 at 8:20 a.m. on the 30000 block of 188th Ave. SE, a witness observed a male getting inside of a neighbor’s vehicle. When he yelled at the suspect, the suspect jumped into his own vehicle and drove off. Check of the vehicle revealed it was a stolen vehicle. The suspect got away with an envelope from the neighbor’s vehicle that contained memorial pamphlets from the neighbor’s parent’s memorial service.

On December 2 between 8 p.m. and 2:25 p.m. of December 3 on the 14200 block of SE 208th St., someone prowled a vehicle and stole screwdrivers, as well as cash, from the console.

On November 26 at 12:40 a.m. on the 17200 block of SE Petrovitsky Rd., a female driver stated that another driver, coming from the opposite direction, drifted into her lane causing her to collide with the guard rail in order to avoid the oncoming vehicle. The female came to a stop in the ditch after damaging approximately 10-15 feet of guard rail.
Maple Valley
On November 25 at 11:28 p.m. on the 24000 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, a vehicle was observed being driven 70-mph in a 35-mph zone, with wet roads and light rain. As the officer attempted to make contact, the driver accelerated even more. Failing to signal for two turns, the male pulled into his driveway, opened the garage door, and attempted to pull into the garage. The male was contacted and stated he did not see the officers’ lights as well as was unaware officers were attempting to stop him. The male finally admitted to thinking he could lose the officers so that he would not get a ticket. The male was booked into Kent Jail for investigation of Reckless Driving.

On November 24 at 2:04 a.m. on the 26500 block of Witte Rd. SE, a vehicle was observed being driven faster than the posted speed limit. The vehicle was also observed traveling over the center line. The driver finally drove to a business parking lot and stopped. Upon contact, the female driver stated she was in a hurry to get home and was unaware of her speed or why she was not staying in her own lane. The female admitted to drinking two drinks. After failing the Field Sobriety Tests, the female gave two breath samples of .164/.164. She was booked into Kent Jail for DUI and advised she would be receiving additional charges of speeding and improper lane change.

On November 19 at 9:15 p.m. on the 23500 block of SE Kent Kangley Rd., a male driver was observed making a turn out of a business parking lot that was not allowed. Upon contact, a set of brass knuckles was observed in a cup holder near the driver. The male stated he received the knuckles from a friend and appeared to be surprised to learn that they were illegal to possess. The male turned the knuckles over to the officer and was warned about the traffic violation.
