On March 31 at 9:03 p.m. on the 22500 block of SE 296th Pl. SE, officers were dispatched to the boat launch parking lot on Lake Sawyer in regard to a suspicious vehicle parked after closing hours. Upon arrival, officers contacted two individuals who were advised that the park was closed after dark and that they would have to leave.

On March 31 at approximately 6:04 p.m. on the 29000 block of 220th Pl. SE, officers received a call regarding an audible residential alarm at a residence. Upon arrival, contact was made with the homeowner, who informed officers that he accidentally activated the alarm.

On March 29 at 3:20 p.m. on the 21700 block of SE 294th St., officers were dispatched to a theft report. A resident stated his shed was broken into and that four yard tools had been taken. The shed was locked; however, the lock was cut to access the tools.
Covington
On March 25 at 6 p.m. on the 17000 block of SE 270th Pl., officers were dispatched to suspicious activity at a business. Upon arrival, one of the males under surveillance had been detained and gave false information as to his identity. Check of the correct information revealed the male had a warrant for Drug Loitering. A second male was also observed removing a pair of sneakers from a shoe box and appeared to conceal the shoes under his jacket. Upon contact, both shoes fell out of the jacket with the security device wrapped in foil. Search of the male revealed a list for the items that had been placed in his shopping cart. Check of the male revealed he had a felony warrant for Domestic Violence Court Order Violation. Both males were trespassed from all business locations nationwide and booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity). The first male was booked for his warrant and the second male for Theft, 3rd degree.

On March 24 at 10:23 p.m. on the 27500 block of Covington Way SE, while stopped behind a vehicle in a business parking lot, the male driver came up to an officer sitting in a patrol vehicle and asked why the officer was parked behind his van. The officer stated that he had just happened to park there. The male and his two passengers then proceeded to go into the business. Check of the vehicle plates revealed the male had two warrants. Search of the business ended with negative results. Later, the male was observed leaving the area and parking in another business parking lot. After parking, he exited his vehicle and ran to the passenger side. Upon contact, the male gave the name of another male, who came up with a warrant. When his correct name was run, it showed two warrants. The male was booked into SCORE on his warrants – Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act (VUCSA); and Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree/Operating vehicle without ignition interlock. Additional charges recommended included Operating vehicle without ignition interlock, and Driving While License Suspended, 3rd degree.

On March 22 at 4 p.m. in the area of SE Timberlane Blvd. and Timberlane Way SE, a male driver stated that the suspect driver of a pickup truck pulled in behind him, activated blue/white flashing lights, chirped a siren multiple times and called out over a PA system for the male to pull over, but the male did not think the vehicle was a police vehicle so kept moving along. While making a stop, the suspect sped up and collided with the male’s vehicle’s rear passenger side spinning the vehicle 180 degrees. After calling 911 to report the incident, the male realized the suspect was not a real police officer, so he fled the area. At first, officers making a check of the area for both drivers came up with nothing. However, contact was finally made with the male who stated he was talking with 911 the whole time and told to ignore incoming calls. As the male talked with an officer, a strong smell of alcohol could be detected coming from him. Continuing with the investigation, it was noted that the male’s story changed several times. Inspection of the male’s vehicle showed no signs of damage whatsoever. However, the male’s two children, who were in the vehicle, gave the same basic story of the incident with suspect hitting their vehicle.
King County
On March 28 between noon and 6:20 p.m. on the 23600 block of 266th Ave. SE, someone entered a residence by shattering a sliding door. Stolen items included a piece of jewelry and firearms.

On March 27 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on the 26500 block of 26500 block of 292nd Ave. SE, someone dumped a bag filled with metal shavings in the driveway of a business. After being reported, the bag, which weighed an estimated 1,200 pounds, was pushed out of the way with a tractor.

On March 27 at 9:50 a.m. on the 21200 block of SE 286th Pl., a resident was awakened by the sound of someone forcing a door open to a residence. The known male suspect was contacted at his residence. Upon contact, the male stated he did not remember entering a neighbor’s residence. It was also reported that the male had tried other secured doors in the neighborhood, but he did not remember. The reporting neighbor did not wish to press charges, so the male was released.

On March 26 at 8:37 a.m. on the 29000 block of 215th Pl. SE, while a female was housesitting, a known male, who normally resides in the house when parents are present but who was currently staying elsewhere, entered the house through a window. Dirty clothes were found lying on a bathroom floor that belonged to the male. Although the female did not see the male in the house, she did see him walking by on the street. Missing from the female’s purse was some money and marijuana. The female did not want to file charges, but wanted to report the incident.

On March 26 at 5 a.m. on the 29500 block of 322nd Ave. SE, a vehicle with a loud muffler was heard stopping at a couple of houses. A resident got into his vehicle to check out what was going on. The suspect driver in the other vehicle was seen taking off at a high rate of speed. The resident caught up to the suspect, who pulled over when flashed at. The female passenger stated that her husband was cheating on her and his pick-up looked like the resident’s pick-up. After driving home, the resident discovered that his prescription medication that had come through the mail was now missing.

On March 25 at 4 a.m. on the 34900 block of SE 262nd St., a resident went to a vehicle that appeared to have been in an accident and was in a ditch. After attempting to wake the known driver, but unable to, the resident called 911. Upon arrival, it was found that the vehicle was still running. After waking the male, he grabbed the steering wheel and attempted to drive the vehicle. The male finally turned the vehicle off and after several minutes trying to get out of the vehicle, he finally exited out of the passenger’s side. Unable to finish the Field Sobriety Tests due to safety concerns for the male who had a hard time standing, the male gave breath samples of .222/.212. He was transported home after being cited for DUI.
Maple Valley
On March 24 at 3:55 p.m. on the 22500 block of SE 248th St., a male, who had been reported as confronting people in a parking lot and then sleeping on a couch in a business, was contacted. The male was trespassed and transported to his residence.

On March 23 at 8 p.m. on the 27800 block of 240th Ave. SE, officers were dispatched to a suspicious occupied vehicle. Upon arrival, a male and female were contacted while sitting in the vehicle with the male admitting to smoking marijuana. The male retrieved a glass smoking pipe from under the driver’s seat. A glass jar containing suspected marijuana and grinder were also retrieve. Check of the male revealed he had a warrant for Driving While License Suspended. The male was booked into Issaquah Jail on his warrant. The female was transported home and released to a parent.

On March 21 at 6:59 p.m. on the 26600 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd. SE, officers were dispatched to a shoplift in progress. A female was observed selecting merchandise and placing it in her purse. After leaving the business without paying for the items, she ran to a waiting vehicle. Upon contact, the driver admitted that he had a suspended driver’s license and that he did not know the female was going to steal anything. When asked why he had driven the vehicle on a suspended license, he stated it was because the female had asked him to. Check of the trunk of the vehicle revealed 26 tape measures with a wire cutter. Both male and female were trespassed from the business and the vehicle impounded.
