The first significant snow event of the season was hitting the Snoqualmie Pass area hard on Friday
Eastbound I-90 was fully closed around 6 p.m. Friday due to poor road conditions and multiple spin-outs.
The closure was in the area of exit 47 at Granite Mountain, just a few miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Washington State Patrol did not immediately say when the eastbound lanes would reopen.
A little farther north at Stevens Pass, snow chains were required for all vehicles without all-wheel drive. Chains were required for westbound travel across Snoqualmie Pass.
