Recology CleanScapes and Republic will not collect garbage, recyclables or food and yard waste on Thanksgiving Day. If your collection day falls on or after Thanksgiving Day, collection of these materials will occur one day later that week.
For example, if your regular collection day falls on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, your garbage will be collected the next day, on Friday, November 25th. If your regular collection day falls on Friday, November 25, your collection will move to Saturday, November 26th.
Because Christmas and New Year’s Day both fall on a Sunday this year, collection will not be affected, and services will remain on schedule.
Inclement Weather
Harsh weather conditions such as snow, ice, or severe wind can cause waste collection service disruptions for public safety reasons. Customers don’t particularly like weather related service disruptions but they may not know that haulers don’t like them either. During inclement weather events, the dedicated team of collection professionals hit the streets in the very early A.M hours to assess affected areas. Factors such as terrain and weather forecast are considered when determining if an area can safely be collected. As a result, areas where the terrain is flat may receive collection services, while other neighborhoods where terrain is steep or hilly may experience disrupted service. If weather conditions do cause service disruptions, both Recology CleanScapes and Republic Services will collect twice the amount of garbage, at no additional cost, on the customer’s next regularly scheduled collection day. During service disruptions, please visit Recology CleanScapes or Republic Services websites or contact your respective hauler’s Customer Service team for the latest information.
