Tahoma School Board Vacancy

Tahoma School Board has an open position for Position #2, created when Director Michael Wiggins’ resignation was accepted by the School Board at its regular meeting on January 28th. Applications from residents of District 2 of the Tahoma School District must be received by the Tahoma School District by Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 4:30 pm.

Whoever is appointed will serve until the school district election in November 2025. Whoever wins that election will complete the current term through November 2027, when a new 4-year term begins.

Current School Board members are President Jennifer McMaster, Ric Lewis, Pete Miller and Matt Carreon.

School board directors must be US and Washington State citizens and be a registered voter of District #2. Candidates will be interviewed at an open public meeting of the School Board on Friday, February 28th. The Board plans to decide which candidate to appoint to the position at its meeting on Tuesday, March 4th. The oath of office will be administered to the new Board member on Tuesday, March 11th.
