On May 13 at 1 p.m. on the 31500 block of 3rdAve., officers were dispatched for a recklessly driven vehicle. Upon contact, the driver admitted to checking her cell phone while driving, which caused her to swerve.

On May 11 at approximately 4:23 a.m. on the 32100 block of Bruckners Way, officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers contacted two males inside of the suspicious vehicle. Both individuals were checked through a records check and it was discovered that both men were convicted felons. However, no crime was committed so officers advised the individuals to stay out of residential areas unless they wanted more contact with officers. The men agreed to leave.

On May 8 at approximately 9:06 p.m. 31500 3rdAve., officers were dispatched to an accident where an unoccupied vehicle rolled from a business parking lot across the highway into the woods. Upon arrival, the vehicle’s driver stated he parked the vehicle, went inside the food mart, and when he came back outside the vehicle was gone. A passerby told him a black vehicle had rolled from the parking space, across the street, and into the woods. He advised he was borrowing a friend’s vehicle and was unaware the parking brake did not work. There was no apparent damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled out of the brush and the driver able to start the vehicle before clearing the scene along with officers.

On May 15 between 4 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. of May 16 on the 18600 block of SE 240thSt., someone entered a job site and stole romex wire strips.

On May 13 at 11:38 a.m. on the 17400 block of SE 270thPl., a female, who had been trespassed from a business indefinitely for theft/fraud at another location, was observed locally concealing grocery items in her purse as well as eating items she had not paid for outside of the business. Upon contact and when asked if she had any money to pay for the items, she stated no. The female admitted that she was a heroin addict and stole items for money. The female was trespassed and released.

On May 12 at 4 p.m. on the 16700 block of SE 272ndSt., someone entered a locked vehicle by prying a door open while the owner was in a business. Two book bags were stolen containing childhood pictures, prayer books and other memorabilia inside the bags.
King County
On May 16 at 4:33 p.m. on the 26100 block of SE 252ndSt., a suspect vehicle was observed with a damaged ignition as well as one color for the body and another color for the hood and fenders. According to a male, the fenders and hood belonged to a vehicle he owned that had been stolen. The male was alerted that a suspect vehicle was observed with his vehicle’s parts attached. The male blocked the suspect vehicle in a driveway and detained the suspect driver until deputies arrived. Check of the suspect vehicle initially revealed the hood belonged to the owner. During an investigation, the suspect male stated that when he purchased the vehicle, it was two different colors. A female, who paid for half of the vehicle verified the suspect male’s story, so they were released, however, the vehicle was impounded.

On May 16 at 10:15 a.m. on the 21600 block of 184thAve. SE, after securing their vehicles on the side of the road, the owners went for a hike. When they returned, they discovered that someone had broken the windows of both vehicles and stole approximately $2,550 worth of property from inside including tote bag, laptop, gift cards, iPad, diaper bag with diapers, jackets and sweaters.

On May 16 at 1:14 a.m. on the 17500 block of 149thAve. SE, deputies were dispatched to a male slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the vehicle was observed with its hazard lights flashing. A smell of intoxicants was detected along with a plastic baggy being observed on the seat. After being awakened, the male stated he was waiting for a friend. Following an investigation, after the male gave a false name, it was revealed the male had a warrant for Driving While Intoxicated. The male was booked into King County Jail on his warrant and making a false or misleading statement to a public servant.

On May 13 between 9 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. of May 14 on the 17400 block of 187thPl. SE., someone broke into a vehicle, whose window had been left down overnight. Stolen items included an EpiPen and two empty handgun magazines.

On May 13 between 4 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. of May 14 on the 18300 block of SE 284thSt., someone broke into a mailbox and stole a resident’s mail.

On May 13 at 12:16 a.m. on the 17200 block of 140thAve. SE, deputies were dispatched to a shoplift. Upon contact, it was learned that a male and two to three teen females placed several grocery items in a company marked grocery bag. The bag was given to one of the females who then walked out of the business without paying for the items. When the female was stopped, the others left. The female was trespassed from the business.
Maple Valley
On May 19 between 9 p.m. and noon of May 20 on the 23600 block of 219thPl. SE, someone entered an unsecured vehicle and stole a passport that was in the center console.

On May 16 at 8:05 p.m. on the 26500 block of SR 169, two males were observed taking items from the deli of a business and then walking out of the business without paying for the items.

On May 15 at 8:17 a.m. on the 26500 block of SR 169, officers were dispatched to a business where a male was walking around eating food and concealing groceries inside his clothing. He was also observed shoving a wine bottle down his pants. When the suspect attempted to pay for some of the items, his debit card was declined, so he began to leave the business without paying for the concealed items. Upon arrival, the male was contacted, and several candy bars were found on his person as well as the bottle of wine. The male was trespassed from the business as well as booked into Kent Jail for Theft, 3rddegree.
